Academy Motto Competition Winners

A big well-done to the 482 pupils from across our existing Academy Schools and additional Schools currently going through the conversion process who entered the ‘Design a new MAC Motto Competition! There was a wonderful and diverse range of ideas shared and it was very difficult to choose entries to go through to the next round of the judgement process! All 482 pupils will each receive an Easter Egg as a reward for entering!

A very special well-done to the 12 pupils who have been selected to go through to the next round as a result of their thought provoking and inspiring mottos! I am sure you will all agree that the ‘mottos’ chosen are a wonderful reflection of what we are trying to achieve in our Academy! Each of the 12 pupils will now receive a £50 prize of their choosing in conjunction with their Headteacher.

Facing the Cross with Courage and Love

Facing the Cross with Courage and Love

As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the Twelve disciples aside by
themselves, and said to them on the way, “Behold, we are going up to
Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and
the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and hand him over to the
Gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified, and he will be raised on
the third day.” Matthew 20:17–19

What a conversation that must have been! As Jesus was traveling to
Jerusalem with the Twelve just prior to the first Holy Week, Jesus spoke
openly and clearly about what would be waiting for Him in Jerusalem.
Imagine what the disciples would have thought. In many ways, it would
have been too much for them to comprehend at the time. In many ways, the
disciples probably

Easter Message from Mr Crehan

Dear members of our community,

I hope this message finds you filled with the great joy and optimism that comes with the Spring.

Well-done to all of the children who have entered our 'MAC Motto Competition'! A high volume of participants so far and there is still time for more entries before the closing deadline of 21st April!

Our ‘Walk with Me’ Lenten Reflection encourages us to look forward to Easter Sunday with great anticipation and joy.

GK Chesterton said ‘Joy is the gigantic secret of the Christian life’. Easter Sunday is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it and spread this infectious joy generously and lavishly. Let us bear in mind the wisdom of St Francis of Assisi: ‘Let the brothers ever avoid appearing gloomy, sad and clouded, like the hypocrites; but let one ever be found joyous in the Lord, happy,

Dear members of our community,

I hope this note finds you well as we continue to live our lives through the continued challenges of this pandemic. The last couple of weeks have been busy in the St Teresa of Calcutta MAC, as we have safely welcomed all pupils back into school. It is wonderful seeing our children back in classrooms and learning again.

I ask you to join us in praying for all our young people who are receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in the weeks ahead. We pray that all receive God’s grace and comforting assurance as they reach this very important milestone in their spiritual development.

Alongside the operational demands of school life, we are making strong progress in the conversion process to strengthen our MAC with additional Primary Schools joining in the coming months. We have also launched a MAC wide competition with

February Half Term Message from Mr Crehan

February Half Term Message from Mr Crehan

At the end of this half-term, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank our parents for their great support over these last weeks. School continues to respond to unprecedented circumstances and often has to make decisions swiftly and with limited scope to provide as much notice, as we would like. Your continued understanding is greatly appreciated. In addition, thank you for your wonderful work in supporting home learning. School leaders; do not underestimate the efforts of parents with home schooling, alongside managing other jobs and the daily challenges of domestic life. I think it is fair to say, that it is parents who are well deserving of this half-term break! We have been informed, that schools will not reopen until 8th March at the earliest with some planning details expected to be provided on the 22nd February. As an Academy, we

Statement on School Closure on Thursday 17th December

Good evening,

Yesterday, the DFE provided updated guidance for Schools and Education Providers regarding end of term arrangements.

The DFE has recommended that ‘where possible’, Education Providers were to consider closing for pupils on Thursday 17th December. It is proposed that Friday 18th December is to be taken as an additional INSET day for all staff to work from home.

It is advised that this will support with Public Health and the management of Contact Tracing and will provide Headteacher’s with a Christmas break start date of the 24th December. This will leave school leaders with a potential 6 day period, to support the NHS in the management of this pandemic.

For any further information required, please access the following website: GOV.UK / Department for Education / End of term planning

Following consultation with Professional Associations, Directors, Local Governors and Headteacher’s, it was unanimously agreed that the St Teresa of
