Safeguarding Lead

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified Designated Safeguarding lead to support the social, emotional, mental health and well-being of our students This will include outreach work with families and collaboration with external agencies including Children’s Services and Family Connect.

Applicants will need to:

• Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies
• Carry out the role of DSL and Lead on Early Help; supporting with home visits, parental engagement, pupil support & safeguarding
• Work closely with colleagues, families and outside agencies to attend child protection meetings & record keeping around safeguarding concerns
• Have the ability to complete detailed written professional reports/maintain robust, accurate and timely records on school system
• Have the ability to keep calm and work well under pressure
• Work independently on cases relating to safeguarding concerns
• Support the DSL and Pastoral teams, managing lower level concerns
• One to one mentoring and support to improve academic progress and learning
• Remain professional at all times & understand the need for complete confidentiality
• Support the Catholic ethos of the school
• Be prepared to undertake any necessary training/lead staff training
• Hybrid Working available during holidays
